  • Your first session, often called an intake or assessment, is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your background, and your goals. This helps me understand your unique situation and develop a personalized treatment plan. Feel free to ask any questions you have about the therapeutic process.


  • The duration of therapy varies depending on your individual needs, goals, and the nature of your concerns. Some people find relief in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer, on going support. We'll regularly assess your progress together and adjust our approach as needed.

  • Unfortunately, at this time Power of Choice, PLLC is only accepting clients who are 13+.

  • Yes! We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions for clients who prefer the convenience of virtual therapy. Telehealth can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns and allows you to attend sessions from the comfort of your home and/or safe space.

  • We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations and no-shows are subject subject to a fee. We understand emergencies happen, so please make contact as soon as possible if you need to make changes to your appointment.

  • Yes, with some important exceptions required by law. These include situations involving suspected child or elder abuse, imminent danger to yourself or others, or court orders. We'll discuss these limits in detail during your first session.


  • No, as a therapist, I do not prescribe medication. However, if we determine that medication might be helpful as part of your treatment, I can coordinate with your primary care physician or refer you to a psychiatrist.

  • We accept most major insurance plans please visit the insurance and fees page for more information. Contact us to verify your specific coverage. We also offer self-pay options and sliding scale fees for those who qualify.

  • I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. The specific approach we use will depend on your unique needs and goals.

  • Progress in therapy can look different for everyone. Common signs include feeling more equipped to handle challenges, improved relationships, decreased symptoms, and greater self-awareness. We'll regularly check in about your progress and adjust our approach as needed.

  • The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. If you feel we're not a good fit, please let me know. I won't take it personally, and I'm happy to provide referrals to other therapists who might better meet your needs.

  • Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

    If you are uninsured or not using insurance, you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected charges before services are provided.

    You may ask for a Good Faith Estimate at any time before or during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.
